Biofeedback Art Research Network (BARN) is a global community of artists, makers, scholars, and researchers exploring the intersection of biological data and creative expression. Members integrate biosensors into their creative practices, seeking to better understand the terms and implications of converging biological organisms with human-made artifice — particularly data-sourcing technology and ‘intelligent’ devices. Through this work, we probe questions of embodiment, agency, and what it means to be human in an age of pervasive sensing and algorithmic systems.
